BIKING

Bikes can be rented at several places, at 5 corners (1 block from ferry), or at a bike shop 4 blocks from this house on State Road.

Having a bike with baskets will expand your range through the back streets of downtown Vineyard Haven, and throughout West Chop and the beach at the opening of Lake Tashmoo.

Biking to Joseph Sylvia Beach, just past Oak Bluffs is also a beautiful ride, with miles of beach & ocean. With time, biking all the way to Edgartown, even on to the Chappy beach makes a stunning, long car-free day.

BOSTON LOGON, WITHOUT RENTING A CAR:

From Logan, ask for the Woods Hole bus to take you to the Woods Hole ferry. Then a nap and a book, a view & 2hrs later, arrive in Woods Hole.

Toss bags on the ferry cart, buy a ticket inside.

In Vineyard Haven, catch a Park & Ride bus (it meets each ferry). Get off at Cronigs Market. The house is a couple of blocks behind the grocery store. (there are no blocks, just a broken down, winding, pot-holed road.)

Within 5 minute walk of the house, are great restaurants, grocery, chowder, sandwichs, putt-putt, video stores, and the year-round hardware/plumbing/lumber type stores.
